I will be at the library from about 9:00 to 2:00. For various reasons both of my Monday compatriots will not be there. If you’re near the library Monday, come keep me company. Started securing bookcases to the wall. Installed two cables, have 2 more at the library. It’s going to be a long-term project and I expect I’ll need some help with it. I did leave my ladder at the library so I can continue. Here’s an image of one of the cables I installed today. It’s anchored into a stud in the wall, and then attached to the metal book case with self taping screws. In an earthquake the books will probably fly out of the bookcases, but if they’re anchored at least the bookcase are likely to stay upright, and maybe the damage won’t be too bad.
