2024 represented the 50th anniversary of the San Diego County Philatelic Council. The San Diego Philatelic Council is a 501(C)(3) non-profit foundation that gratefully accepts donations of all kinds to further the mission of the organization.

The mission of the San Diego County Philatelic Council is to maintain the library, provide instruction in the knowledge, art and science of philately to the benefit of the public and to provide a facility available as a meeting place for San Diego County area stamp collectors

The San Diego Philatelic Library is focused on the area philately, the collection and study of postage stamps, postmarks, postal history and related materials. Currently the library has a collection of more than 15,000 items, including journals, monographs, periodicals, catalogs and books. They have been cataloged into a database and organized for reference, research and collection analysis.
