New Printer in the Library
Today we replaced our HP printer with an EcoTank Epson printer. It will go longer without needing new ink and a fill set of ink bottles is less than a cartridge for the previous printer.
The new printer has features far above our earlier printer. I believe it will be more usable and save the library money in the long run. Here are some specs and a little advertising blurb from Epson.
- 1.44” Color Display
- 10 ppm Max ISO Print Speed
- 100 Sheet Paper Tray
- Single Page Scanning
Here’s what Epson says:
Innovative Cartridge-Free Printing — High-capacity ink tanks mean no more tiny,
expensive ink cartridges; Epson’s exclusive EcoFit® ink bottles make filling easy and
worry-free

– that’s enough to print up to 4,500 pages black/7,500
color (Actual savings and costs will vary considerably based on print tasks, print volumes and usage conditions: equivalent to about 90 individual ink cartridges)
Up to 2 years of ink in the box

amount of cartridge waste ending up in landfills
